Professional Microphones

DJ Richard has (at last count) four microphones. Three are radio mics and one is a corded mic. The AKG WMS-40 Pro Flexx is the microphone DJ Richard has installed in his custom DJ console and uses almost exclusively, only using the corded AKG D880s corded microphone for backup or when a very quick , basic microphone solution is required. The Shure PGX SM58 handheld microphone is for speeches and readings and the Shure PGX WL185 is a wireless lavalier (lapel) microphone, usually used during wedding ceremonies.

Is it excessive to have so much backup? Some DJs might think so, but Richard Mills believes in being prepared!

AKG WMS-40 Pro Flexx wireless diversity microphone
This microphone operates in the UHF (Ultra-high Frequency) band from and is ideally suited for the professional mobile DJ. The WMS40 Prooffers three selectable UHF frequencies for interference-free reception and excellent audio even under difficult conditions. This is the microphone DJ Richard uses almost exclusively, only using the corded microphone when there is heavy interference or when the cordless is being used for speeches.

Shure WL185
Wedding ceremony. 150 guests. Nervous Groom and softly-spoken Bride. What to do? Easy- Clip the PGX1 body pack transmitter on the Groom's belt, the tiny WL185 lavalier microphone on his lapel and both of the voices can now be clearly heard by all through the lovely Bose L1 speaker.

It's a visually discreet solution that solves a myriad of audio problems and when DJ Richard is helping by providing ceremony sound, it's all included as part of the package for no extra expense.
