On 25th October I was booked to entertain for a couple at Castaways at Karioitahi Rd, near Waiuku in Auckland. I entertain all over the country at some of New Zealand's finest venues and I have to say that this one is a great choice.
Steve and his team put new meaning into the word 'accommodating' and repeatedly demonstrated that nothing was too much trouble. The weather on the day was blustery and occasionally wet, which ruled out a lawn ceremony overlooking the beach and Tasman Sea, but moving inside took no effort.
When the photo shoot took longer than anticipated because of the weather, Castaways had no stress pushing the meal back a little, but serving the breads to the guests a little earlier.
The feel of the place was excellent, particularly because of the cheerful and attentive nature of the serving staff. They made my job a lot easier and really did set a great tone. Jon & Denise, you made a fantastic choice in your venue and thank you for allowing me the honour of being your DJ and MC.
